Erkebispegården
is the oldest secular building in Scandinavia. Work on it started in
the second half of the 12th century, and it was the Archbishop´s
residence until the Reformation in 1537. The Archbishop´s Palace is one of the best preserved buildings of its type in Europe.
The architecture and the surroundings create a beautiful setting for any outing, should you prefer a guided tour in the Nidaros cathedral or a casual stroll through lovely Bakklandet.
The Coastal Steamer (Hurtigruten) has daily departures at Trondheim.
