The Nidelva river winding through the town. The old warehouses still intact along its shores, the impressive Nidaros cathedral, standing slightly apart from the busy part of the town.
The oldest of the wharves along the River Nidelva
date back to the 18th century; nevertheless, they still give the
impression of the waterfront as it was long before then. On the
seafront, towards the canal, we find wharves that were built more recently, in the 19th and 20th centuries.
The Coastal Steamer (Hurtigruten) has daily departures at Trondheim.
