 FONNA Glacier Ski Resort

Folgefonna Summer Ski Centre is situated on the glacier at 1,200 metres above sea level, 19 km from Jondal ferry quay. The ski lift is 1100 metres long. Fine conditions for cross-country skiing, marked tracks to the top of the glacier at 1640 meters above sea level. Snowboard, alpine- and cross-country slopes. Cafeteria with warm- and cold food for sale. Ski hire.

In the month of June there is a 3-week snowboard camp with youngsters from USA, France, Great Britain, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. National teams from USA, France, Switzerland, Sweden and Norway are practicing alpine, cross-country, triathlon, and freestyle here with us. Folgefonna Breførarlag arranges guided glacier trekking, and a hike on the glacier is a memory for life.

The ski slopes in Fonna are suitable for both beginners and experts. We offer wide and evenly groomed pists every day throughout the season (weather dependable), The slopes are regularly salted to make a compact surface perfect for carving. There are not many places in the world offering the same experience as Fonna. Set your carving turns while enjoying the view above the Hardanger Fjord and the Folgefonna Glacier in comfortable summer temperatures.

The cross country trail is located on the top of Folgefonna Glacier, just above the top ski lift station. The area is overall flat and perfect for practicing and enjoying cross country skiing. The trail is approximately 2km to 5km long depending on snow conditions and the view is unbelievable. The trail is set up for both classic and skating.

We set up the trail for both groups and individuals. Normal price during the season is NOK 250,- per day, including transport to the top and access to freshly groomed trails, salted daily. For groups over 10 persons, the price is NOK 200,- per day.
