ADVETURES PICNIC AREA

NAF urged last summer people to vote for Norway´s finest rest area. This summer we present 10 of the recommended picnic spots. Honnevje rest area has been named this year´s staging of the NAF. Feel free to visit one of these places to get a better road trip.

NAF´s criteria for a good picnic spot: Safely rest area for family, Dining Facilities, Toilet and picnic table, The degree of natural beauty and Environment.

HONNEVJE PICNIC AREA

A complete picnic area with access to its great strength. Rest areas size makes it easy to relax and pull slightly away if you wish. The place is also handicapped accessible. Moreover Honnevje a modern toilet facilities, good picnic tables and especially swimming. Being able to take a dip during the car trip can be refreshing for both the driver, adults and children. We encourage you to stop in these idyllic and scenic surroundings.

GUDBRANDSJUVET CANYON

Situated by the by main road RV 63, 15 km from Valldal. Spectacular views and dramatic scenery with unique potholes that form a 5 metres wide and approximately 20 metres deep canyon with the river passing through. Can walk on footbridges over the river course. Clean place with good facilities. Café Gorge sell dishes based on local ingredients. In the summer, sold it Valldal strawberries in the picnic area.

LANGFOSS

An alluring place to stop. Nice location with the fjord and waterfall. Fantastic waterfall on one side and great sea on the other side of the road. The site invites you to stretch your legs when hiking in the area are many. Square also has toilets and a kiosk with traditional Norwegian food and other groceries.

FORSAN PICNIC AREA

Beautiful in the midnight sun, is located in a scenic municipality. Many excellent tables / benches, artistic toilet and art on the shore. situated 10 minutes from E6.

SOHLBERGPLASSEN

Lies near Highway 27 by Atnasjøen, An amazing views in a relaxed setting. The place has a akitektur as outstanding. Information about the place and the story behind Harald Sohlberg´s famous painting is mounted on the railing.

Great views of the ocean. Beautiful in the midnight sun, but also an unforgettable experience when the forces of nature begins.

ØSTERHOLTHEIA PICNIC AREA

Situated beautifully at the pond. Secluded from the road, has great place that you can walk and play around. Nicely landscaped and maintained.

FRØSET PICNIC AREA

The picnic area is strategically and ideally located up to E6 close by Jevika with clear signage and easy exit. Nevertheless, the necessary distance from traffic. Well structured with excellent materials of stone, slate and durable wood that is nice to each other. Picnic tables with or without a roof over for shielding against sun and rain. Clean and tidy and good facilities with trash racks, steel, and nice toilets.

GORNITAK PICNIC AREA

An architecturally beautiful picnic area in Finnmark. Picnic Table "waves" into nature is a natural division between sea and mountains. Gornitak that Sami does indeed climb, the place where you come on shore and heading up the mountain. Finnmark is probably the county that are most affected by World War II and some of this history is preserved at the stone house in the building was originally an ammunition store for the Germans.

HEREIANE PICNIC AREA

Is beautifully situated by the Hardangerfjord with very beautiful view on the road between Jondalen and Utne. Seats are built between the rocks so that each tourist has a sense of being alone in a maritime environment. Nice, clean on the rest area with a nice and clean sanitary facilities.
