FORNTUN / FANTOFT STAVE CHURCH This church were built at Fortun in Sogn, but was pulled down and purchased privately by Consul F. Gade. It was then transported from Fortun in Sogn and re-erected on his estate at Fantoft near Bergen, whereupon it was painstakingly restored in the 1870´s. In 1994 the Fantoft (Fortun) stave church burned down and was completely destroyed. After the fatal fire in 1994, there was a strong desire to build a new copy of the church, and this work was finished in 1997. Fantoft Stave Church is located near Bergen.
