THE BARONY ROSENDAL

The Barony Rosendal is the only one of its kind in Norway, and thus among the gratest attractions in Western Norway. The castle, which was built by Ludvig Rosenkrantz in 1665, is situated in a beautiful park from the 1850´s, framed in by majestic mountains and waterfalls.

During the summer season there are several activities going on inside the barony, such as carding and spinning in the Servant´s Hall and baking in The Old Kitchen. In the Tea and Coffee Lounge you may taste delicious homemade cakes.

The Barony Rosendal has long musical traditions. One of the old grand pianos has been restaured for concerts and the Barony Concerts in the Yellow Room have become a major culural event. The art gallery in the Wine Cellar contributes to carry on the vivid interest in pictorial art which has always been present at the Barony Rosendal.

The cotter´s holding, Træo, is property of the Manor, as well as The stud Farm and The Women´s House, which offer overnight accommodation.
