Verran

Verran municipality has approximately 2.950 inhabitants and covers a area of 601,6 km2. Verran is an eldorado for outdoor enthusiasts. Here you can fish in both the fjord and in mountain lakes. Holden, for example, is a good place to start a hike in Fosen Alps. Verran is an old industrial community with mining as its main industry. In Malm, Verran's administration center, you will find northern Europe's deepest mine shaft, a mining museum, a mine tower and other reminders of the community's past.

NEW FOSSDALEN IRONWORKS

Northern Europe's deepest iron ore mine, 1200 metres below sea level. The mine tower and other buildings, along with a scale model, tell the history of the mine.

JØSSING CABIN

Lies at Aursjømyrene. The War memorial Jøssinghytta is a monument over Yugoslavian prisoners-of-war who hid here and were helped to escape in 1943. Parking. Foot path.

FOLLAFOSS POWER STATION

Lies in Follafoss. North Trøndelag's rower Company's first power station. (1919 - 23).

LAPPLANDER

Lies at Krievve Giedtie, Sela. A Lapplander initiative offering accommnodations, catering, children's camp and adventure. Guided tours. Main building, cabins, turf huts and lean-tos.
