GALLOGIEDDE
Gallogiedde is a collection of farm buildings once inhabited by Sami people. The first settlers were reindeer herders who every spring migrated from the winter grazing lands in Sweden to the summer grazing lands along the coast of Norway. Later many of them settled, and their settlements form the basis of the present Sami communities here. At present, after more than 200 years' settlement, Gallogiedde has been organised as a Sami open air museum.
