Selbu municipality has approximately 4.000 inhabitants and covers a area of 1.234,8 km2. Farming and forestry have always been important for settling and employment in Selbu. Selbu local council has office facilities in Mebond. The village is also well-known for it´s knitting such as Selbuvott, Selbusokk etc.

The main attractions are Selbusjøen lake about 60 km2 and the highest peak Fongen 1.441 metres. The beach Vikaengene is the longest beaches in Selbu.

Selbu is an Eldorado for hunters! With the proper permits, you can small game hunt in magnificent surroundings around Selbusjøen and Nea.

FISHING

Fishing trout and char in countless lakes and waterways. Proximity to mountains gives ample opportunity for sports fishing.
